Boat tour to Palinuro (Italy)
The hidden gem
Palinuro has always fascinated travellers of all times, from the Ancient Romans to nowadays tourists, for its crystal clear sea and its nature, which you can feel at their best with an excursion on a sailing boat.
Palinuro’s beaches are among the most beautiful of Cilento: wide and sandy, awarded every year with the prestigious Blue Flag – an award for cleanliness and services. Among the most famous and appreciated beaches are: the Salina Beach, the Dune Beach and the Natural Arch. The “Buondormire”, accessible only by sea, is a must-see too!
Those who spend their holidays in Palinuro or in Cilento Coast cannot miss a visit to the caves of Capo Palinuro, which have nothing to envy the famous Blue Grotto of Capri.
Events and nightlife
At night, Palinuro turns into a pedestrian area with discos, elegant bars, night clubs and numerous typical restaurants. Among the most evocative events taking place in Palinuro is “The Night of the Myth”, which takes place on 23 August each year and celebrates the passage of ships fleeing the city of Troy (did you know that “Palinuro” was the helmsman of Aeneas? It’s in the fifth and sixth books of the Aeneid!).
The promontory of Capo Palinuro (Italy)
The rocky promontory of Capo Palinuro deserves a special note: from the top of its 70 meters you can admire an enchanting panorama, and its walls welcome the Palinuro primrose, the only known example of primrose in a non-mountain environment.
